What is a personal budget if you have an EHC Plan?
A personal budget is an amount of money that can be spent on providing for some of your needs that are named within your Education Health and Care Plan in Section F that cannot be offered by your school or college. For example, it can pay for therapy sessions not provided by the education setting.
A personal budget may take some of the funding away from your school or college to pay for the provision that is provided by another service.
You can request a personal budget when your Education, Health and Care plan is first issued, or during the Review process.
